Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce on her wedding anniversary to make a statement.

A source tells us J.Lo specifically filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on their second anniversary to show the world she is “a woman standing up in her own way.”

Lopez pointedly filed for divorce on Aug. 20 in LA County Superior Court on the second anniversary of the star couple’s Georgia wedding. They had eloped in Las Vegas a month prior, in July 2022.

She also filed “pro se,” meaning that she represented herself and filed without a lawyer, a move that could further signify her taking back control.

The date listed as their separation is April 26, 2024.

We also hear that Lopez’s shopping trip in West Hollywood, Calif., last weekend — when the “Jenny From the Block” singer wore a glamorous black dress — was meant to show she is taking back dignity. (Or, as they call it, revenge dressing!)

In July, the couple put their marital home on the market for $68 million. Affleck plunked down $20.5 million for a mansion in the ritzy Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles in July.

Lopez spent her summer in the Hamptons riding bikes, celebrating her birthday sans Affleck and hanging with her longtime manager, Benny Medina.

Meanwhile, Affleck was in Los Angeles working on “The Accountant 2.”

Earlier this month, a source told Page Six that Lopez felt “humiliated” and “frustrated” that the couple’s reconciliation didn’t work out, especially since, “she made a big deal that he’s the love of her life.”

At the time, we were told that Affleck was holding off on filing for divorce to avoid embarrassing Lopez.

A source told People that the “Air” actor showed “no interest” in fixing their fractured union.

“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” the insider shared.

“He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself.”

The pair do not have children together, but blended their families from their past marriages.

“His kids are taking it fine as are hers,” an insider told Page Six. “Everybody is ready to move on.”

Lopez shares 16-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
