On Interstate 696 in Huntington Woods, Michigan, 13 truck drivers stopped traffic to help prevent a person from jumping off a bridge. When State Trooper Michael Shaw learned about the situation, he quickly devised a plan and called for traffic to be rerouted. The trucks were strategically parked under the bridge to cushion any potential fall if the person jumped. After four hours of negotiation, the man was safely removed from the bridge and provided with psychological support. The truck drivers’ willingness to help, despite the long wait, made a significant difference.
